Presented by an expert in the field.

The agricultural sector is one of the main driving forces to the development of rural areas and using agriculture as an engine of growth to enhance security and promoting economic growth. Attendees at the talk will be given an insight into how these benefits can be achieved.
Using the Saudi Arabian experience and the similar Arizona Climate and water issues as his example, Dr. Al Rasheed will highlight the importance of managing and achieving security and promoting economic growth, together with the related challenges; he will also address the issues regarding the scarcity of water in the region.
During the presentation, Dr. Al Rasheed will focus on the Saudi Arabia Agricultural Development Strategies plus the King Abdullah Initiative for Agricultural Investment Abroad, looking at the pros and cons, and the threats facing Saudi investors – government and private – and host countries.
Over the past 35 years Dr. Al Rasheed has acquired extensive expertise in managing and implementing agricultural strategies in Saudi Arabia and abroad; and has been invited to give many presentations in relation to agriculture in countries including the United Kingdom, Europe, South America, and in the Arab World; it is a great pleasure for him to speak at the University of Arizona.
